Wrestling Inc. was the first to report that Andrade had made a formal request for a WWE release on the latest March 8 RAW recordings. As expected, more details about WWE’s status and Andrade’s immediate future flooded the internet.
PWInsider, a usually reliable source in such matters, independently confirmed the story with several WWE sources. A person close to the situation told PWInsider that Andrade looked “absolutely terrible” last Monday on RAW.

What went wrong for Andrade in the WWE?
WWE signed Andrade in 2015 and, from the start, the highly regarded fighter was expected to be the company’s next big Hispanic star.
The intentions of the promotion to make Andrade a massive name became evident when El Idolo was awarded an NXT championship.
For the WWE credit, the company did a solid job of building the alliance between Andrade and Zelina Vega in the black and gold brand. However, they failed to reproduce the magic in the main list.
Andrade received his call in 2018 together with Zelina Vega, and the duo showed many promises in the first days.
El Idolo won the US title along the way and many believed that the former NXT champion was protected for a downward push. The appointment of Paul Heyman as executive director of RAW also seemed a blessing.
Heyman liked the Mexican superstar and wanted to be a top guy on the red mark. Everything was going well until WWE decided to remove the former ECW chief from the role of executive director of RAW.
To make matters worse, Vince McMahon would not have seen much in Andrade. It is also no coincidence that Superstar was left undeveloped in the WWE 2020 draft.
