More than that cardboard cutout, the relationship of Ben Affleck and Ana de Armas is still a long way off.
A few months after two, the stars parted ways after less than a year of dating, and gallons of Dunkin iced coffee probably split between them, speculation that they had reconciled revolved around the Internet.
It all started when the actor “Knives Out” posted a seemingly standard selfie on Instagram over the weekend, showing off his post-Ben Bob. In the photo, she was wearing a half-heart pendant necklace with a heart emoji.
Eagle-eyed fans noticed that Affleck and De Armas often wore identical versions of the accessory in the flood of paparazzi photos of the former couple during their quarantine romance during the summer. When the two called him quit in January, many assumed that the jewelry would be put on ice, a symbol that will soon be forgotten of a cold love.
So, fans were immediately convinced that the rebirth of the necklace in De Armas’ selfie indicated that she and Affleck were trying again.
But, as it turns out, a necklace could just be a necklace.
After sharing the photo, De Armas followed the post with another story on Instagram, with a series of stickers with the words “no”, “no” and “I don’t believe” on a black screen, in addition to a peace sign with his fingers , apparently closing speculation.
Although it certainly seems that De Armas is alone at the moment, reports have described her separation from Affleck as relatively friendly and seem to have remained close.
“This is something that was mutual and something that is completely amicable,” an unnamed source told People at the time, adding that two and two “still talk regularly.”
“They are in different moments of their lives; there is a deep love and respect there “, the source declared to the press. “Ben still wants to work on himself. He has three jobs lined up and is a solid father at home. They are both happy with where they are in their lives. ”
Neither party addressed the division publicly. Rather unexpectedly, the brother of the Justice League actor, Casey Affleck, was the most open.
After denying that he was the one who threw a cardboard box of De Armas in the trash, the young Affleck sincerely admitted that “this year has been very difficult for people who have relationships”.
“I think it’s a catch in every way,” he told De Armas for Entertainment Tonight. “And I’ll be there to take Ben through this, but I don’t think he’ll have a problem [either]. My advice to them would be, “Yeah, think about it a lot, because quarantine isn’t fun if you’re alone.”
