– It’s a safe bet Amy Schumer didn’t expect an online joke that would involve Hilaria Baldwin, Alec’s wife, causing such a firestorm. It started earlier this week, when 36-year-old Hilaria, a yoga instructor, posted a photo of her, in her underwear, with a new son, Eduardo. As a joke, Schumer reposted the photo on his own Instagram feed and claimed that her photo was hers and her son’s, Gene, on people. Most people who commented took it lightly, but others managed to turn him against Hilary and accuse her of embarrassing her body. Hilaria responded with a video defending herself, while making it clear that she had no ill will against Schumer. “My only concern with this is that he seemed to be getting out of control,” she says in the video.
Hilaria says it’s all for the positivity of the body, but says it should apply to people of all shapes and sizes, including her own. “There’s another thing like, ‘Oh, mothers don’t look like that,'” she says USA Today. “Some moms do it. This mom does it. And I’m included in inclusivity.” Schumer himself replied, “I’m sorry!” to the video and deleted the joke post on her page. But, after all, she’s a comedian. On Thursday, Schumer redistributed a photo with Alec and Hilaria trying to take their children for a photo and sent it back as her own family. “Chris and I had such a beautiful day with the kids,” she wrote in the caption, referring to her husband.
