Among us, the developer InnerSloth teases the plans for the future

InnerSloth’s Among us it was easily one of the biggest surprises of 2020. While the game was originally released in 2018, it gained major attention last year when it became a hit on Twitch. Suddenly, the game found the main attraction that had eluded him, and its developer was unexpectedly surprised by the new attention. A year earlier, InnerSloth is working hard on its efforts to maintain this interest, and there appear to be surprises that the company has not yet publicly discussed. In a new interview with Lucy James, GameSpot, Victoria Tran of InnerSloth briefly addressed the prospect of future revelations.

“We have some secrets in the works that, unfortunately, I can’t talk about,” Tran said.

This doesn’t give fans much, but the prospect of more content should prove quite interesting. InnerSloth was not clearly prepared for the increased interest in the game and, as a result, changed quite a few plans.

“It was terrifying, amazing and wonderful, and there really isn’t a word in English that makes people understand how surprising and amazing it was,” Tran said.

When it comes to success stories in games, it’s hard to make any kind of comparison with Among us. While a lot of games have found increased interest long after their initial release, this often happens when it’s too late for a developer to take advantage. It was not the case Among us, and InnerSloth seems to be in a good position to capitalize. The developer has unveiled a number of future updates to the game, including a new Airship map.

As with any online game, however, maintaining interest may be easier said than done. Players can be notoriously volatile and can often move on to the next big thing, despite the efforts of a developer. It remains to be seen if that will be the case Among us, but with InnerSloth working hard to find new ways to improve the game, it looks like its success will continue in the foreseeable future.

Among us is currently available on iOS, Android, Nintendo Switch and PC. You can check out all of our previous game covers right here.
