TEGUCIGALPA, HONDURAS.- Relatives and the helpless, relatives and co-workers came to remove the lifeless body of the military policeman who lost his life violently last Friday night in the Támara prison in the Honduran capital.
The young man’s father Pedro Lopez Mejia (26), clung to his other relatives while waiting for the coffin to be released, outside the facilities of the Center for Forensic Medicine and Forensic Sciences.

A few minutes later, three men in uniform from Military Police of Public Order (PMOP) transported the coffin to be later taken to the municipality of Santa Elena, in the department of La Paz, where he was originally from.
Fatal attack
Lopez Mejia, was assigned to the maximum security module of this penal center, for which, according to those who appeared, on Friday evening he approached one of the cells to bring food to a prisoner, who was allegedly responsible for his death.

Versions indicate that the defendant attacked the soldier, witnessing a severe blow to the head using a padlock and subsequently causing several injuries with a knife.
The authorities of the main prison in the country have not yet ruled on the violent act, so the identity of the person responsible and the possible reason for the attack are unknown.
