American Idol contestant Cecil Ray Baker arrested for burglary after entering his ex-girlfriend’s house

American Idol contestant Cecil Ray Baker was arrested and charged with theft.

Baker, 20, was arrested by the Texas Rockdale Police Department on Saturday on charges of burglary, the department confirmed to Fox News. The contestant from season 19 was booked in the prison in Milam County and released with a bond of 15,000 dollars.

Baker’s arrest comes just days after he was eliminated from the ABC singing competition series.

According to TMZ, invoking a statement on his own responsibility, Baker is accused of entering the house of an ex-girlfriend named Mariah Lopez. He allegedly entered the house after she refused to let him see his daughter, whom he thinks is his.

Lopez told police she did not leave Baker in her home, but he managed to enter by opening a locked door to enter. Lopez claimed to police that Baker pushed her to the floor and “hit her in the face with a palm tree heel” before leaving the residence. He was arrested days later after he was allegedly moved to another city.

His arrest took place on April 17. TMZ reports that the housing charge is a second-degree felony in the state.

Baker’s sister reportedly told police she witnessed the incident and supported most of Lopez’s allegations.

The “American Idol” contestant was eliminated during last week’s episode.

On Sunday, Lopez took to TikTok with a video detailing the alleged abuses he experienced at the hands of Baker.

“My daughter and I are happy, safe and healthy,” the text in her TikTok video reads a photo of her and her young daughter.

“We’ve had enough. That’s why the victims never show up, trying so hard to tear them down. #Dobetter #bebetter,” she wrote.

In the video, Lopez shares alleged screenshots with a friend who claims to have witnessed Baker previously “putting his hands” on her.

“There were times when it was hard to leave,” the text reads over bruised images on her body.

“The truth will finally come out. But in all honesty, I just hope you decide to do better. I hope one day to change and take responsibility for your own actions. I hope one day you can change and flourish in person. that you have to be “, Lopez concludes.

A representative of the show did not immediately return Fox News’ request for comment. It is unclear at this time whether Baker pleaded guilty or not.
