Algeria Domínguez de León, the mother of the famous Cuban troubadour Silvio Rodríguez Domínguez, died on Wednesday, according to relatives on social networks, who did not specify the cause of death.

“Although I knew your departure was approaching, you are never ready to lose a mother, I could not say goodbye, but I keep your love and memories of everything we lived together. You were not only my mother, of Silvio, of Maria, you were the mother of your grandchildren, of all our friends, acquaintances, you always had every heart that came into your life “, said Silvio’s sister, Anabell López, on Facebook.

“I want to remember you smiling and singing our song ‘Love me so much.’ Rest in peace, dear mother, you are easy! Thank you thank you thank you! “He added.

The troubadour had dedicated two of his recordings to his parents. The first, “Rodríguez”, in honor of his father, Dagoberto Rodríguez, and the second, “Domínguez”, in Algeria. The latter has on the cover a photo of his mother at 18 years old.

She also sings a song with her son for the same phonogram. It’s about the subject The wind is you. “I’ve already said it on another occasion, my mother is music, although I think that in a way mothers could be something like each other’s music,” the singer-songwriter said in an interview with Zurrón del ucenic.

“We felt very good during the recording. She already knew the song from her song so much and, although she is not very used to this agitation, I took very few photos. By the way, I left a comment about her, an enigma of the peasants, at the beginning of the recording, when I explain to her the distance at which she should be placed from the microphone “, she told about the song they performed.

Algeria Domínguez León lived with Dagoberto Rodríguez in the La Loma neighborhood of San Antonio de los Baños, now Artemisa Province, 26 kilometers south of Havana, where Silvio was born.

In addition to housework, Domínguez shared a singing duo with her sister Orquídea Domínguez as a teenager, with whom she participated in radio stations and cultural events. He used to sing his son the song “Colibriul”, from the popular tradition.

At this time, the troubadour did not speak publicly about the significant loss.
