Flying Cloud 30FB from Airstream is the first to offer office space directly from the factory.

The new Airstream Flying Cloud 30FB offers a literal corner desk. Even in a 30-meter-long trailer, the space is small, so it’s not exactly a spacious workspace. Transformed from what was originally the sleeping space in the trailer, it has a desk and an office chair that slides perfectly into an indentation in the office. There are also connections for internet connections and a mounting place for a computer monitor.

The large trailer still has sleeping space for six people, including in the office, which is equipped with a folding bed.

“We know the landscape will be forever changed by the pandemic,” said Airstream CEO Bob Wheeler. “This new offering reflects our commitment to being agile and responsive to the needs of current and future customers.”

The small Flying Cloud office turns into a sleeping area at night, if necessary.

It’s the first time Airstream has offered a fully-fledged workspace in a trailer directly from the Jackson Center, Ohio plant, an Airstream spokesman said. The small desk has sliding drawers and a built-in Blu-Ray player. Heavy curtains can be pulled over windows to control lighting during video calls. Air storage spaces have dry wiping surfaces on their doors for noting notes and reminders. The space also has USB and HDMI ports and, of course, power outlets.

In addition to some small beds, Flying Cloud has a queen-size bed, a bathroom, a separate shower, a kitchen and a small dining area. Airstream plans to add office space as an option for other trailer models in the future, a spokesman said.

The travel trailer weighs about 6,800 pounds and costs $ 107,500. It may take some time to get one. Sales of recreational vehicles and travel trailers increased during the pandemic as travelers avoided air travel and hotels. The Airstream website displays a prominent warning that “Due to high demand, the wait time for new products is longer than normal.”
