AirPods Pro 2 could come in two sizes

Mr-white Leaker, who in the past shared exact details about Apple’s product plans, posted on Twitter today supposed images of internal hardware to be used in second-generation AirPods Pro headphones, which are expected to be released sometime in 2021.

In the photos below, the hardware on the right side of the image appears to be the current ‌AirPods Pro‌ hardware, while the hardware on the right is designed for the next generation AirApods Pro‌. The cables are in two different sizes, which suggests Mr-White, indicating that irAirPods Pro‌ 2 could have two sizes.

Rumors from Bloomberg suggested that the second-generation version of irAirPods Pro‌ will have a more compact design, which eliminates the short stem protruding from the bottom. IrAirPods Pro‌ could have a more rounded shape similar to headphones from companies like Google and Samsung and, for this design, it might make sense to offer different sizes for a better fit.

Apple is said to be struggling to shrink AirPods to the right size to remove the strain, so there’s a chance it won’t happen and that could explain why Mr-white’s shared hardware designs appear to have similar hardware sizes. the current ‌AirPods Pro‌.

Rumor has it that the AirPods Pro will have a new wireless chip. Mr-White says the new “AirPods Pro” still has a “W2 chip”, but it’s not clear what that means. The current irAirPods Pro‌ uses an H1 processor that has a wireless chip that is the successor to the original W1 chip in the first generation AirApods‌, so W2 may refer to H1 here and not indicate a new wireless chip technology.

Mr-White has shared exact details about Apple in the past, but it’s not always fair. Earlier this year, Mr-White shared images of a braided cable that is said to be for the iPhone 12 range, but which has not gone out. He also said that Apple is working on an Apple black pencil, and this has not yet appeared. However, he shared the early leaks of Apple’s iPhone 12 case and display unit, which were accurate.

It is not yet known exactly when an updated version of irAirPods Pro‌ will appear, but the updated headphones are expected sometime in 2021.
