After slaughtering its entire mink population, Denmark will dig millions to prevent pollution, the Danish parliament agreed on Sunday. Denmark, the world’s largest exporter of mink fur, Denmark slaughtered more than 15 million mammals in November after government officials reported carrying a mutant strain of the virus. Four million mines that have not been incinerated will be exhumed after six months, after any chance of infection, but before they can affect groundwater, according to Bloomberg News. Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen was set on fire for the decision to kill the mink, which was taken without parliamentary approval. Some of them literally rose from their graves last month, lifted by releasing decomposing gas, according to guardian.
