A plane of the Delta Airlines company with 114 passengers on the Santiago-New York route had to return to the terminal after an hour of flying in an emergency when registering a malfunction in one of its turbines in the air.
According to the reports presented, in order to receive the aircraft in an emergency, the authorities at Santiago airport have set up an operation with doctors, paramedics, fire engines, security and civil defense, in case of an unusual situation.
However, the pilot of the aircraft managed to manipulate the aircraft and landed without problems with only one turbine on the runway of said terminal.
The Delta Airlines plane flew from Santiago Airport to the John F. Kennedy Terminal in New York City in 1822.
The flight took off at 2:27 PM on Saturday and returned in an emergency an hour after the airport terminal.
According to the details, the aircraft is in the airport ramp area to be checked by the airline’s technical personnel.
While the passengers remained in the transit area of the terminal, still at 6pm.
