Chicago Bears fans have been through enough. Whether we are talking about the last few decades or the last few days when the hopes of potentially landing Russell Wilson have been snatched away and replaced by the cruel reality of Andy Dalton.
And while Bears fans seem ready to move on and accept that their team felt like defenders again, Adam Schefter of ESPN refuses to let us.
On Wednesday, Schefter said he did not believe Wilson would stay in Seattle. He hinted that something could happen closer to the NFL project next month.
When Schefter joined ESPN Arise on Thursday morning, he was asked if his thinking had changed one day to let everything sit.
“Nothing different,” Schefter said. “This is a situation that needs to be followed even as we approach the project.”

Seattle does not sound like a team that is ready for rebuilding, so Wilson’s trading without a defender is very big this season to replace him does not seem a realistic option. And Chicago doesn’t have an option for them right now, other than Dalton.

Schefter was very careful with his wording in this situation, noting that things are “right now”, which means that he clearly does not close any possibility at this time.
But he also mentioned that the four teams on Wilson’s shortlist have made a move to the defensive position this off-season, which means Wilson may be forced to expand that roster if he doesn’t want to. to stay in Seattle. Or maybe that means waiting for the Seahawks to finally give in to the project.
