Whistle immediately denounced the Arbitration Committee’s arguments as untrue and assured that his dismissal was due to racism
Today Adalid Maganda participated in the National Commission for the Prevention of Discrimination (Conapred), to reopen the case against Arturo Brizio, the chairman of the Arbitration Commission, who had already been accused of being a whistleblower for racism since 2018. Now, the central defender is demanding “worthy” compensation according to the law.
In the sitting, which lasted about half an hour, the whistle asked Conapred to reopen the case, which derived from the complaint he filed in 2018 and in which he accused Arturo Brizio of racism. On that occasion, Adalid Maganda asked for his reinstatement, but now he demands a “dignified exit”, those present at the meeting reported.
The referee came in the company of one of his lawyers and Conapred had already been aware of the case for a few days. They will analyze the complaint and then announce the measures to be taken.
Adalid Maganda was fired from the Referees Commission three weeks ago and it was claimed that his departure was due to the failure of two physical tests, in addition to the fact that he had a few errors in the match on the first day, between Toluca and Gallos.
The whistleblower immediately denounced the arbitrators’ arguments as untrue and assured that his dismissal was due to racism, pointing to Arturo Brizio as the main culprit.
Maganda and her lawyers met twice with the lawyers of the Mexican Football Federation to try to reach a friendly agreement, but no agreement could be reached, so the whistle went to Conapred to reopen the case, although on this occasion he asks to be given a “decent” financial remuneration in order to leave the arbitration and not be reinstated in his position.
