Activity Awards is a new site that offers physical representations of the digital fitness awards that Apple offers when Apple Watch owners meet their goals.

Available as magnets, the Activity Awards are designed to look like in-app prizes that can be earned through the Fitness app. Each magnet is modeled after a different prize, the Activity Awards website offering all kinds of options.

There are prizes for meeting goals such as 7-day exercise, exercise and stand requirements, along with prizes for special activity challenges, such as the badge Apple awarded in August for hiking, running, walking. or performing a wheelchair workout of one mile or more.

The magnets are priced from $ 10.99 to $ 13.99, and some of them are available in color or in a “black out” mode, which is entirely black and silver.

The magnets are made in the style of enamel needles and are bright, colorful and well made. They feel like high quality magnets and have a built-in magnetic holder to attach them to refrigerators or other magnetic surfaces.

Activity prizes have a good weight for them, and the magnetic power is in line with what I would expect from a premium magnet (I glued two of them together and it was almost impossible to separate them).

I noticed some slightly sharp edges on some of the prizes, so I might not let the kids play with them, but it doesn’t matter much on a magnetic surface. Some of the magnetic backs also appear to be cracked in half and I’m not sure what that means for longevity. We also broke two of the magnetic backs in half, stacking them on top of each other to bring them from one room to another, so if you buy them, make sure you don’t do that.

All designs are almost on site and there is no confusion with the Apple Watch activity awards, which are displayed in the Awards section of the Fitness app. You can’t get all of Apple’s magnet awards yet, but I imagine Activity Awards is working on other options to include in the future.

Activity Awards is not affiliated with Apple and I don’t know what Apple thinks about the Apple Watch fitness-inspired awards that are available in a format that makes money for someone other than Apple, but the site’s founder told me that Activity Awards are not a 1: 1 match with Apple awards with Pantone font and colors changed for production, plus the design is flat.

The company wants to clarify that the pins do not come from Apple and are designed as additional and complementary to the Apple Watch.

Bottom line

Every week, I read stories on the internet from people who were motivated to fit thanks to the Apple Watch, and training and keeping up with a routine can be a lot of work. Having a physical representation of a training achievement, which is visible every day, could be inspirational and a reminder of what has been accomplished.

I think the Activity Awards have the potential to be a beautiful gift for someone who has put a lot of effort into working with the Apple Watch or even a personal gift for those who want to be reminded of what they can accomplish.

Some of the designs, such as the Yoga Award and Parks Award, are also beautifully objectively beautiful and have a beautiful, neutral design that Apple Watch owners might want to have in the fridge. Activity Awards has some quality control issues to deal with, so keep this in mind if you plan to buy them. Carefully treat the magnetic media as they may break.
