Abinader offers the first palace for the construction of the Zona Franca Română park; the investment was made by Central Romana

Central Romana began work on the construction of the Zona Franca Romana park, owned by the Central Romana Corporation, where the symbolic act of the first palace was led by President Luis Abinader.

The head of state shared with the main directors of the company, led by engineer Eduardo Martínez Lima, administrative vice president.

The investment for the works exceeds RD $ 600 million, as announced during the activity.

The event took place at the facilities of the La Romana industrial park, whose operations began in 1969 as the first complex of free zones in the country.

The leaders of Central Romana announced that this investment is the first phase of a set of improvements and transformations that will be carried out in approximately fifteen thousand square meters of its industrial complex, having the highest standards in terms of safety and industrial hygiene, according with national and international certifications.

At the event, in addition to the presence of Luis Abinader, engineer Eduardo Martínez Lima, executive vice president of Central Romana; Víctor-Ito-Bisonó, Minister of Industry and Trade; and Regine Wolfgramm, general manager of Tabacalera de García.

Also present were Leo Matos García and Eduardo Martínez-Lima Gonzalvo, vice-presidents of the Roman central administration, respectively; ministers José Ignacio Paliza, Luis Miguel De Camps and Limber Cruz; Luis Emilio Rodriguez, director of Operadora Zona Franca Romana; the general director of Customs, Eduardo Sanz Lovatón; Julio López, administrator of the Roman Free Trade Zone Operator; Daniel Liranzo, executive director of the National Council of Free Zones, among other authorities and government figures.

“More than five decades ago we were the pioneers of this business model for the Dominican Republic, generating new jobs by setting up foreign companies that trusted the future of our country,” said Luis Emilio Rodríguez, director of Zone Franca Romana .

They also indicated that the Zona Franca Română park will be equipped with an infrastructure adapted to the new times with modern equipment and that a wastewater treatment plant will be installed, in accordance with the company’s commitment to good environmental practices and policies. . .
