The President of the Dominican Republic, Luis Abinader, took advantage of his visit to the Elías Piña border area to meet this Sunday with his counterpart from the Republic of Haiti, Jovenel Moïse.
The information was published by Moïse through his Twitter account this afternoon. The Dominican president then confirmed the meeting.
“Today I met again with Dominican President Luis Abinader to discuss the priorities of the bilateral agenda between Haiti and the Dominican Republic: security, health, trade, migration, energy, and the evolution of the political process in Haiti. A joint statement will be published shortly, “the Haitian president posted on social media along with a photo of both heads of state.
Abinader, who today toured the border area of that boundary and inspected the facilities of the coordinated border management unit and perimeter fences that divide the Dominican Republic from Haiti, also posted a message on his Twitter account.
“Today we held a meeting with the President of Haiti, @MoiseJovenel, to review the bilateral agenda: security, health, trade, migration, energy and the evolution of the political process in Haiti. We will publish a statement of agreements in the coming days,” Abinader wrote on Twitter.
