Abinader lunches with Haitian journalists at the National Palace

The President of the Republic, Luis Abinader, shared on Saturday with a group of Haitian journalists who were visiting the country, as reported this afternoon by the Dominican presidency in a press release.

“The first president shared with Haitian journalists, who took the opportunity to express some concerns to the Dominican president,” said the statement issued by the presidency of the Dominican Republic.

The exchange was attended by Foreign Minister Roberto Alvarez; Dominican Ambassador to Haiti Faruk Miguel and Jose Singer, Special Adviser to President Abinader. It was lunch at the National Palace.

Also in attendance were Dominican journalists Fausto Rosario, who was in charge of coordinating the meeting; Mercedes Castillo, president of the College of Dominican Journalists, Gustavo Olivo, Ramón Colombo, Altagracia Salazar, Ana Mitila Lora, Adalberto Grullòn, German Marte, Milizen Uribe, Welcome Sharboy, Victor Pizarro and José Luis Soto, among others.

Former Haitian diplomat Edwin Paraison also attended the meeting.

“During the meeting with Haitian journalists, President Abinader stressed his interest in always having good relations between the two countries,” the statement said today.

He was also open to always maintaining a channel of communication with the Haitian press.

Haitian communicators thanked the Dominican president for his desire to receive them and finally offered him a gift.
