Aaron Rodgers is not impressed by the record set by Baker Mayfield, overthrown Hail Mary

Cleveland Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield made NFL history Monday night against the Baltimore Ravens, with the longest pass in the game they’ve ever won in the league, according to Pro Football Focus. The throw sailed over 70 meters in the air, but did not result in a touchdown and instead was an incomplete pass.

Not everyone is scared of the play. When asked about Kay Adams’ move to Good Morning Football in an interview on Friday, Green Bay Packers defender Aaron Rodgers said he did better.

“I threw him 70 feet flat in 2011 … in Detroit to Donald Driver. The second quarter,” Rodgers said.

I watched the whole quarter of that game in 2011 when Rodgers said it happened and couldn’t find the song he was referring to.

BUT there is another piece that Rodgers could have mentioned Mayfield’s rival. Take a look at this bomb in the final zone of 2016, which, like Mayfield’s, did not result in a touch, but was extremely impressive. This song is also against the Lions, although it was at Lambeau Field in 2016 and was not intended for Donald Driver (who had already retired).

For reference, here is the Mayfield permit for week 14:

No one doubts Rodgers’ arm. That being said, we’d love to see a competition between No. 12 and No. 6. Kansas City defender Patrick Mahomes and Buffalo Bills defender Josh Allen may also receive an invitation to the contest to resolve in the followed the argument of who has the greatest strength of arms.
