While Aaron Hernandez he is no longer here, his memory continues in the hearts of those closest to him.
April 19 marks the fourth anniversary of the death of the former New England Patriots player. In April 2017, the 27-year-old athlete was found hanged in a prison cell and later pronounced dead at the hospital. At the time, he was serving a life sentence for the 2013 murder Odin Lloyd. He had been engaged to Shayanna Jenkins, who gave birth to a daughter Avielle in 2012.
“Since you disappeared,” she wrote in an Instagram post on April 19, “the loss has not become easier … it still hurts. I’m still crying. I still wonder why. “
Jenkins shared the quote: “You [sic] my memory goes through every day when I remember all the special things about you. “
As she finished her tribute, Jenkins recounted how she and their 8-year-old daughter hold Hernandez close. “Today you miss, love and think a lot,” she wrote. “Avielle and I continue to talk about you and keep your presence alive. May you continue to rest in peace and watch over us daily. With love always and forever. ”
