No news of the missing traders

Apopa is a municipality dominated by the 18th Revolutionary Gang and Mara Salvatrucha. The two groups have a presence in that municipality, police sources say.

In the first days of this month, several people disappeared in that municipality, among them the cases of two traders, one with dairy products and the other with soft drinks and beers.

Three days later, Amadeo de Jesús Campos Henríquez disappeared between the night of 8 and the morning of December 9, from his house in the Jardines de Madre Tierra urbanization, a few meters from a police unit.

According to Campos Henríquez’s relatives, those who took him also stole the deeds of two houses and several cases of beer.

In both cases, the authorities made no progress in the investigation, according to relatives of both traders.

Some complained that when asked about the case in the Apopa prosecutor’s office, they replied that they were investigating, but they were patient, that it was not the only case of missing persons they were investigating. The same happens with the Police, they said.
