BRIGHTON, me. – Police are investigating a single car accident that killed a 4-year-old girl in Livingston County on Friday.
Officials say around 11 p.m. on Jan. 1, a 36-year-old man from Fayetteville, North Carolina, lost control of a vehicle while driving north on US-23, south of Highland. Road. The 2006 Ford expedition reportedly left the road and hit several trees.
According to the authorities, the wife of the 33-year-old man, the 8-year-old son and the 4-year-old daughter were passengers in the vehicle at the time of the accident. Police say the 4-year-old girl was taken out of the vehicle during the accident and died on the spot.
The driver, his wife and his 8-year-old son were taken out of the vehicle by emergency personnel and taken to hospital for their injuries. The injuries and their specific condition are not known at this time.
Officials at the Sheriff’s Office in Livingston County believe speeding and alcohol appear to be factors in the crash.
This investigation is ongoing.
