A Pereirano was the designer of J Balvin’s luxury Ferrari – Other Cities – Colombia


Earlier this year, paisa singer José Osorio, better known as J Balvin, toured the streets of the Castilla neighborhood in Commune 5 in Medellín, where he spent most of his childhood and adolescence. But as if the presence of the world-famous artist were not in itself striking, Balvin arrived in a yellow Ferrari car.

The same car was the one that appeared in the video for one of its latest music releases: the song “Ma G”, whose filming took place in the capital Antioquia, this luxurious Ferrari being the first vehicle of this type to roll on Colombian soil. It should be noted that the video already has over 12 million views.

This Ferrari is a supercar listed as. one of the top of the prestigious Italian company, ranking just above models like the Ferrari 812 Superfast. In addition, it is so exclusive that Balvin owns one of the 499 models that have been manufactured in the world.

However, this is not the first luxury vehicle the singer has purchased, as it has a collection that includes a Ferrari F40, a Dodge Challenger SRT Demon and a Mercedes-Benz G-Class.

From Colombia to the world

Little was said about this car in Colombia until it appeared in Balvin’s video. However, it was presented in 2013 at the Geneva Motor Show in Switzerland, one of the events with the longest tradition in the industry, which took place uninterruptedly from 1980 to 2020 had to be canceled due to the pandemic.

It was recently revealed that a Pereiran, Edwin Osorio, took care of the interior design of the exclusive car. He worked for more than a year to accomplish such a task entrusted to him by the prestigious brand. His proposal was inspired by the 1967 Ferrari P4, a design “Minimalist” and “primordial”, according to those reported at that time by the creative from Risaralda for the magazine “Motor”.

As Osorio describes, his design competed with four other Italians and French, but of his conquered the presidency of the company at that time. This was a dream come true, because his creativity and effort had the best results.

Edwin Osorio came to Maranello as the principal designer due to his knowledge and experience in the industry: graduated from the Catholic People’s University of Risaralda As a professional in industrial project management and later specializing in vehicles at the European Institute of Design in Turin, Italy, he then began working at Ferrari.

His experience includes the Lancia and Fiat design centers, the JAC Italy Design Center and the Giugiaro company, which included him in projects aimed at the Volkswagen Group.

Osorio is currently working as an interior design leader at the Great Wall, a Chinese carmaker, but watching the video of a compatriot of his, J Balvin, where he appears one of the cars he helped design with his team fills him with “a lot of pride”, assured the Colombian in an interview given to RCN News.

J Balvin bought the vehicle in June last year, but it is not known how much he paid for it, Well, despite the fact that the car is valued at $ 3.5 million on the market, the model that the Colombian artist purchased is second.
Even so, Balvin becomes one of the few owners in the exclusive vehicle world, including Canadian rapper Drake.
