A Norwegian says the cash prize in his pee pants has been withdrawn

His cash prize went down the toilet!

A student from Norway threw his pants on the room to win a crazy $ 5,000 contest – but the money was taken by customs officials and he never saw a penny, he told the Post.

“It’s wrong to take the money I worked for,” smoked Dan Holt, a 23-year-old from Haugesund. “I was questioned by the police, but I can’t blame them.”

Holt first heard about the so-called “5,000 challenge” hosted on Instagram by Finnish sunglasses company Nopeet in November, he said.

The company urged the contestants to film themselves doing the most “crazy” stunt possible, then to say “Nopeet made me do it!” and posts the footage along with a company hashtag, according to a post announcing the contest.

“I thought I was going to give it a shot,” Holt said, adding that he needed money. “It sounded fun and I like to push.”

A Norwegian named Dan Holt, @igordieseltv, says he won $ 5,000 in cash by competing in a nopeet sunglasses brand contest doing some messy public things (smoking a bong in a Santa costume in a mall, peeing his pants in public, etc.).

To win, Holt dressed as Santa Claus and took a tobacco bong inside a local mall, then poured and rode his bike into an ice-cold river. Later, he filmed pictures of himself peeing in his pants in the mall as the viewers were stunned.

“Everyone’s jaws have fallen,” he said. “People were like, what’s going on? But the whole point was to do something as crazy as possible. ”

He posted the wild footage on Instagram and found out on January 5 that he had won and would receive cash from the company in the mail.

For a dramatic effect, the company stuffed the money into a Bible and asked him to film himself opening it, Holt said.

But the “incomplete-looking” package was confiscated days later by the Norwegian Customs, and Holt was later questioned by Haugesund police for not declaring a large sum of money, Holt said.

Nopeet quickly defended him by posting a photo of the Bible filled with cash on Instagram, along with the caption “This is UNFAIR!”

“The Norwegian authorities did not take part in the #NopeetMadeMeDoIt challenge and are now trying to steal the cash prize belonging to @igordieseltv by confiscating them. This is UNFAIR! If they wanted the cash prize, they should have taken part in the challenge “, said the company.

The company added: “Our lawyers are already working to sue the Norwegian authorities. “

Holt now says he simply wants the hard-earned money.

“I did not do anything illegal. I was just the winner of the contest, “he said. “It’s a lot of money for me. It would help me move on in life. ”

He added: “I think I know I have to declare money now – but it’s probably the only lesson I’ve learned … Making videos was still fun.”

The Norwegian Customs and Haugesund Police did not immediately return a request for comment on Thursday.
