A millionaire Powerball prize falls in Puerto Rico

Puerto Rico has a new millionaire after a $ 2 million prize Powerball fell on the island in last night’s draw.

The ticket sold on the island was one of eight that matched the five white balls and doubled the price by choosing the Power Play option for an additional $ 1.

The other seven winning tickets were sold in Florida (2), Georgia, Illinois, New Hampshire, New York and New Jersey.

While, the jackpot of 23.2 million went to a single ticket sold in New Jersey. The winner will receive 17.3 million in cash.

This is the second time the Powerball jackpot has been won in a week as a single person from Maryland took home $ 731.1 million last Wednesday.

The winning numbers in last night’s draw were the white balls 05, 08, 17, 27, 28, plus the Powerball 14 and the Power Play 3X multiplier.

The next Powerball draw is on Wednesday, January 27, when the jackpot will reset to $ 20 million.
