A merchant beat a municipal inspector in Oaxaca de Juárez to death

Oaxaca de Juárez.- Directorate for Public Safety, Roads and Citizen Protection of the municipality of Oaxaca de Juárez issued the search form for Enoc Martínez Baños, identified as the person allegedly responsible for the death municipal inspector, Gregorio Cortés Cruz.

Yesterday, the inspector of the Sub-Directorate for the Regulation of Public Roads Activity died after a few days hospitalized after being beaten by the merchant, confirmed the Cabildo del Oaxaca de Juárez Municipal Council, who issued an obituary through social networks after his death.

According to preliminary information, last Sunday the municipal official was beaten by Enoc Martínez Baños, a native of the state of Guerrero, near the Temple of Santo Domingo de Guzmán, where Cortés Cruz was working, when he was attacked by a fugitive.

After being beaten, paramedics transferred the injured inspector to the IMSS hospital, where he lost his life yesterday.

After confirming the inspector’s death, the mayor, Oswaldo García Jarquín, offered his condolences to his family and condemned the violent act.

Through social networks, it emerged that the alleged perpetrator was seen in the vicinity of Etla, while others indicate that, after learning that he was wanted by the authorities, he fled to the coast of Oaxacan; so far, his capture has not been released.
