DES MOINES, Iowa (KCRG) – The Iowa Department of Public Health on Wednesday reported another 1,335 Iowans who tested positive for COVID-19 and another 62 deaths were reported.
As of 10:30 a.m., state data show that a total of 307,568 people have tested positive for the virus and 4,394 people have died of the virus in Iowa since the pandemic began.
The state lists COVID-19 as the leading cause of 4,0007 of the reported deaths, while the virus contributed to 387 of the reported deaths.
A total of 270,555 people in Iowa have recovered from the virus since the pandemic began.
Currently, there are 474 Iowans hospitalized with COVID-19, with another 85 people hospitalized in the last 24 hours. There are 86 people and 36 fans in the ICU.
According to the data provided by the state, 4,161 people have been tested for COVID-19 in the last 24 hours. A total of 1,430,372 tests have been performed since the pandemic began. According to these data, the positivity rate in the last 24 hours was 32.1%.
The 5 test sites in Iowa were closed Monday for Martin Luther King Jr. Day. This includes all sites in Linn and Black Hawk counties. There may be a decrease in COVID-19 data due to closure.
