Millions of people spent time in quarantine with Animal Crossing: New Horizons. It’s a great way to experience a little normalcy and meet virtual friends and family. Apparently, it’s also a great way to encourage a relationship.
Steven Brown took a Switch and Animal Crossing: New Horizons at the beginning of the pandemic, to get his mind off things and relax a bit. He was caught in the game, which eventually led him to post in a Facebook group with other fans. Brown had collected a bunch of bells and wanted to share them with virtual friends. A stranger from the Facebook group decided to take him on offer, so they practically met for an exchange.
Instead of ringing the bells and telling him one day, the stranger he met Brown took him on a tour of his island. This led to a friendship that only grew over the months. The two continued to meet in the game and send text messages, which eventually paved the way for a more serious relationship. The two got so close that they got to meet in person and obviously it went pretty well!
The two are now engaged to get married and it is all due to their mutual love for Animal Crossing: New Horizons. Now the question is … will the wedding be personal or in Animal Crossing ?!
