A 4-month-old baby may have been accidentally suffocated by the Florida family puppy, authorities said.
Little Raelynn Larrison was found unconscious by her father, who had noticed the puppy resting on her at their home in Dayton around 7 p.m., WRGT reported.
The baby’s father feverishly called the emergency number and told the dispatchers, “The puppy was on her and I just noticed,” said a recording of the phone call from the outlet.
She’s not breathing. My baby isn’t breathing, ”the father continued according to Dayton Daily News.
Raelynn was taken to Dayton Children’s Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
Police are investigating the cause of death of the toddler.
Family members who sought funeral expenses on GoFundMe called the death an “unexpected tragedy.”
