As much as customers like to change the design of the M1 iMac while using custom silicone, they will hate at the same time that the company has remained with the same approach when it comes to accessories. No, we’re not talking about the new Magic keyboard that now supports Touch ID, we’re talking about the Magic Mouse. If you thought that Apple has finally changed the horrible location of the charging port, well, you would be wrong.
The only change here is that the magic mouse will come in the same colors as the redesigned iMac
Talking to The Verge, Apple clarified the location of the charging port of Magic Mouse or Magic Mouse 2, if we take real model names. What this means is that when customers unsubscribe from their next shiny M1 iMac, they will notice that the mouse will need to be charged in the same way as their previous-generation iMacs. In the last five years, Apple has not changed the location of the charging port and it seems that the company will stay with the same design, for whatever reason.
If it’s important to you, Magic Mouse 2 will end up in the same finish as the M1 iMac. If you remember, Apple will now offer seven different finishes for its latest “All in One”. Apple has not clarified why it decided to keep the location of the charging port maintained, but this will certainly not prevent customers from purchasing third-party wireless mice. At least with those purchases, you will be able to load them from the front and use them in unison.
Some state-of-the-art wireless mice also support USB-C charging, so you won’t have to worry about carrying a separate cable. We do not know when Apple will continue with the latest trends, at least when it comes to Magic Mouse 2. Hopefully when a new iMac hits the market. Until then, either use what you get or buy a different mouse.
