Defender Justin Fields shared some medical information with the teams ahead of next week’s project.
NFL Media reports that Fields informed teams that manage epilepsy. The neurological condition can cause seizures and is usually treated with medication, although different cases may require different medical approaches.
According to the report, Fields was not affected by the condition on the football field and that his symptoms have been less common in recent years. Other members of the Fields family overcame the condition in the 1920s, and doctors believe that might be the case for Fields as well.
These are promising signs for Fields’ future health, but teams are still likely to have a few questions to throw away before deciding on the use of a high draft pick at the defensive end.
