The monarch is seriously considering abdication so that her son Charles can assume the throne in a “smooth transition.”
With the death of Prince Philip and his 95th birthday approaching, the queen is considering “seriously” leaving the throne.
According to a royal source, the queen wants a smooth transition from the crown and, since nothing is known about her intentions, Prince Charles could get the crown sooner or later.
“Her Majesty is aware of her age and wants to make sure that when the time comes, the transition from the Crown is perfect,” the source said.
“I understand that the queen has thought a lot about this and thinks that if she is still alive at the age of 95, she will seriously consider handing over Charles’ reign.”
