Here are other updates that Apple could release today:
Apple TV
Not only should Apple TV receive a new processor and support for better refresh rates for gaming, but a redesigned controller could function as a physical locator for AirTags, according to the 9to5Mac technical blog.
AirPods 3
The next generation of Apple wireless headphones is believed to be more compatible with the latest generation AirPods Pro, along with space audio support and touch controls.
AirPods have cultivated a cult group over the years, becoming a symbol of fashion and status, but Apple could wait until later this year to unveil a new model.
MacBooks
Apple’s MacBook Pro and MacBook Air are also in for a refresh, but it’s unclear if they’ll do so next week. Apple recently discontinued the iMac Pro line, which was once the company’s most powerful computer and its original HomePod to focus more on the HomePod mini.
Software
Apple could also guide users through a long-awaited privacy-focused iOS 14.5 software update. Its future application tracking transparency feature will require app developers to explicitly disclose how they collect user data, what it will be used for, and will require user consent before downloading or updating apps from the App Store.
New emojis are likely to appear, including one of a less graphic syringe amid the launch of the covid-19 vaccine.
