Luigi joins Mario’s Lego interactive sets

Luigi – everyone’s favorite brother, the most famous mushroom-overwhelming plumber – joins the Lego interactive collection of Super Mario sets in a new starter kit (creatively titled LEGO Super Mario Adventures with Luigi Starter Course).

The new Luigi figure is technologically similar to the Mario one, with a built-in screen that animates his eyes, mouth and a main screen on his chest and a sensor at the bottom that is used to scan barcodes and brick colors. The main differences are cosmetic here – Luigi looks different and has different sound effects, vocal lines and character interactions.

In addition to Lego Luigi, the new startup course includes a Pink Yoshi, a Bone Goomba and a Boom Boom for players to defeat – or add to their larger Lego Super Mario creations. The new character Luigi is also compatible with all previous sets, if players want to explore their old courses from a new perspective.

The Luigi Starter course will be launched on August 1 for $ 59.99, the same price as the Mario Starter course. Pre-orders are now available on the Lego website.
