Chadian President Idriss Deby dies on the front line

(CNN) – Chadian President Idriss Deby has died from wounds on the battlefield, an African diplomatic source told CNN on Tuesday.

This comes after rebel attacks in the north of the country.

The rebels in the Front for Change and Concord in Chad (FACT) reported Monday in a statement that Deby was injured and fled.
