Dear Amphitheater Staff and Families, Today Governor Doug Ducey has rescinded part of an Executive Order (2020-51) prompting schools to demand face coverings. The governor’s action also applies to an emergency measure (2020-04) that the Arizona Department of Health Services had issued with requirements for face covering in school. With today’s move, Governor Ducey and Dr. Cara Christ K-12 has given school districts the right to set and enforce their own policies to combat the spread of COVID-19, including the use of face coverings. Amphitheater Public Schools has made the decision to maintain the required facial coverage for students, staff and visitors of Amphitheater Public Schools at least until the end of the school year. Face covers are one of many important strategies in the plan to soften the schools over the past year to keep our schools safe. The district appreciates your continued support to students, families and staff, and we look forward to ending this school year strong and healthy. Thank you.
