PS4 hit from Sony and Guerrilla Games Horizon Zero Dawn is now available for free to PS4 and PS5 owners. PlayStation owners on both consoles can redeem a free digital copy of the game until May 14 at 20:00 PT / 23:00 ET.
The free copy that Sony offers is Complete edition, which means that you will get not only the basic game, but also some extras, including Frozen Wilds extension and a digital art textbook. Unlike free PS Plus games, which require an active subscription to the service, Sony offers free play with no strings attached.
Horizon Zero Dawn was originally released in 2017 exclusively for PS4. Players control a young hunter named Aloy, who roams a post-apocalyptic world dominated by cars while looking for clues about her past. The game also gets a sequel titled The West is forbidden, which is set to be released sometime this year on PS4 and PS5.
The promotion is part of Sony’s “Play at Home” initiative, which aims to encourage PlayStation owners to stay home during the pandemic, boosting gamers with free games until June. In addition, Sony also offers nine titles, including Astro Bot rescue mission and Enter the Gungeon free until April 22 at 20:00 PT / 23:00 ET.
