Activision has announced key details about the upcoming season of Season 3 for Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War and Warzone, and there a lot coming. The editor reviewed the update in a blog post, and we’ve gathered the key points here.
Activision has released a content roadmap for season 3, highlighting all the key additions to the new season. This includes more multiplayer maps for the Black Ops Cold War, an “update” of the Warzone map, a Hunt for Adler event in Warzone, and more new Zombies content. New weapons and operators are also coming, along with new vehicles and new levels of prestige. You can see the roadmap below.

Release date and file size
Season 3 will launch on April 22, but updates applying the new content will be available sooner. Black Ops The update of Season 3 of the Cold War will be available on April 20 at 21 PM PT, while The time of the Warzone event is scheduled for April 21 at 21:00 PT.

The Hunt For Adler event
Available for season 3 launch on April 22, there will be a new limited-time Hunt for Adler event that includes challenges spanning the Black War of the Black Ops and Warzone. From the sound of the description of the event, it seems that the players will head to Verdansk to find Adler once and for all. Here is the description:
“Naga’s forces kept Frank Woods and his CIA strike team busy searching for Russell Adler in the Golden Triangle, giving Stitch the vital time he needed to initiate the next phase of his great plan. Naga’s distraction may prove to be the key to the Cold War. Meanwhile, in Russia, two Perseus agents travel to Mount Yamantau on a mission to recover secret files from a clandestine program long forgotten for Stitch’s cause. Woods and his team are preparing to follow up on the information discovered at the base of Naga’s operations in Laos. All signs indicate Verdansk, and Adler’s fate is in their hands … “
Players can earn special rewards, including weapon charms, business cards and a new Operator skin, to complete special challenges.

Changes to the Verdansk map
Activision teased that Verdansk is “about to heat up in a big way.” The editor said that an event called Operation Rapid Sunder will begin on Wednesday, April 21 at 12 PM PT and will take place for some time after that. More details on what will prove to be this event will be announced later. It is highly anticipated that this will be the long awaited nuke event that will blow up the current version of Verdansk and replace it with something new.
Three new operators
A new season means more Operators, the first of which is Wraith, who is featured in an important place in the key art for Season 3. ” “A great asset in winter operations, with cold blood and intolerance of weakness, is the perfect antagonist to fight NATO forces,” reads a line from his description.
Players can unlock the Wraith immediately by purchasing the new Season 3 Battle Pass. If players reach level 100, they will unlock a legendary operator skin for the Wraith.
Other new operatives include Knight, a former MI6 military agent, and Antonov, a former assassin who joined the armed forces instead of spending more time in prison to pay for his crimes. Knight and Antonov will be added to the games at some point in season 3, but not at launch.
A bonus operator, Captain Price, also comes in Black Ops Cold War and Warzone in season 3. The new version of Price is called Price ’84, and its appearance is based on the Cold War era. Anyone who already owns Black Ops Cold War receives Price ’84 for free. All you have to do is log in and it will appear, but you have to log in to Black Ops Cold War first and then go to Warzone for him to appear in the game Battle Royale.

6 New Weapons
Black Ops Cold War and Warzone are added six new weapons in season 3. These include:
- PPSh-41 SMG (launch week)
- Swiss K31 Sniper Rifle (launch week)

- AMP63: Pistol (in season)

The new Cold War maps of black operations
The new multiplayer maps come in Black Ops Cold War in season 3, starting with a a new map called Diesel which comes into play during launch week. It also comes during launch week Map of Yamantau, which is located in a Soviet observatory on Mount Yamantau.
Another new map is called spacer, and if it sounds familiar, that’s because it’s a remake of the favorite map of fans from Black Ops II.
A third new map is called Rainbowand it’s a multi-team map that comes sometime during season 3. This is a new large-scale map, located in the Ural Mountains. Although it will not be able to be played in multiplayer until later in the season, it will be featured in Zombies Outbreak at launch.
New ways:
Season 3 brings back a very popular way in the form of Sticks and stones. In this free mode for everyone, players appear with the R1 Shadowhunter crossbow, a ballistic knife and a tomahawk. Players can earn points by killing with a crossbow and knife. If you eliminate the tomahawk players, their score returns to zero.
The second new way is Elimination in several teams, which comes during the Cold War Black Ops during season 3. Located on the game’s largest map, this mode causes teams of four people to survive in areas of continuously expanding radiation.

New scores and more
A new scorestreak called Penalty will be available in Black Ops Cold War during launch week for season 3. Activating this scorestreak calls in fighter jets launching missiles at enemies. Also new in season 3 is Vehicle truck trucks, which is available in multi-team modes. It is described as a “massive beast of cars” that can hold four soldiers.
More content for zombies
Zombie fans are also enjoying season 3, as a new field upgrade is called Toxic growth will be available. This summons an increase in toxic thorns in front of your character. Those who try to move through it see their speed of movement reduced by half, while they also suffer damage. Toxic growth can also be enhanced with ether crystals to make it even more deadly.
A new region for Outbreak mode is coming. “Duga”, which is located in the Ural Mountains, will be available during launch week. It has new documents, audio logs, radio broadcasts and artifacts to find as players try to uncover their mysteries.
Outbreak mode also receives new vehicles, FAV and Cargo Truck, during the launch week. In addition, they come to New World events that give players the opportunity to upgrade to the DIE Machine Wonder weapon. New levels of prestige
With the start of season 3, your season level is cleared to level 1. To encourage you to get back to the end, there will be four additional levels of prestige to achieve. These include:
- Level 50: New Prestige, Emblem, Prestige Key, Weapon Blueprint and Battle Pass Tier Skip
- Level 100: New Prestige, Emblem, Prestige Key and Battle Pass Tier Skip
- Level 150: New Prestige, Emblem, Prestige Key and Battle Pass Tier Skip
- Level 190: All seasonal challenges are available
- Level 200: New Prestige, emblem, Prestige key, Battle Pass Tier Skip, Master Prestige calling card
- Levels 250 – 1,000: The new Prestige key every 50 levels
Players who reach level 200 during season 3 will receive the “Prestige Master” title during the season. With this, the color of the season level changes and you are given the opportunity to create a custom Prestige icon with Prestige icons from previous Call of Duty games.
