Regardless of the territory, some fans had heard about the demonstration, but were unaware of the strict moments. BlankStarBE user said “I missed it, I didn’t know there was an 8 hour window”. In a world where much of the news around games comes from social media conversations rather than the publisher’s official marketing line, it’s not hard to understand why some didn’t know about the demo’s limitations.
Some people discussing the demonstration on this subject criticized Capcom’s use of the “fear of losing” marketing strategy. “I really hate all the games that shoot these FOMO tactics,” Ifoundyourtoad said. “I work at a job, I don’t want the games to be the same. God ”At the top of that eight-hour window, the Resident Evil Village demonstration is limited to a 30-minute playback. This was also criticized in the comments. “It’s really ridiculous, why force ourselves to hurry with a 30-minute limit?” DanFarrell asked98. “I really wanted to take the time to soak in the atmosphere and explore the scenery, but I was worried about the lack, because I ran out of time. I ended up with 8 minutes left because I had no idea where the end was. ”
In many other subjects, the same type of complaints can be found. Many people missed the Resident Evil Village demo and will probably have to miss it again when the second demonstration on April 24 – set at the castle – will once again make the same time-limited window.
However, not everyone was so low on the situation, with a few pointing out that a demonstration – even one with such bizarre restrictions – is quite rare nowadays. “So few games have a demo at all, so I don’t really feel the need to attack them after a timed demonstration,” said terrordactyl1971.
