Gingrich says that Maxine Waters, far left, is becoming more and more radical: “Why should we tolerate violence?”

Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich reacted on Monday to Fox & Friends’ video of Maxine Waters, D-California, urging anti-police protesters to become more “confrontational.”

GINGRICH: “VERY DANGEROUS TIME” WITH VILIFIED POLICE, ESPECIALLY FOR MINORITIES

NEWT GINGRICH: As a civilization, either provide security or dissolve. And I had it with Rashida Tlaib, who called for the abolition of the police and the removal of prisons, which is a position of total madness. And now, of course, yes [Maxine] The waters that have always been on the left. But what has happened is with each passage – the more patient we are, the more radical we are.

So you have over a year of violence in Portland, Oregon. You have an expectation of violence. Why should we expect violence if the criminal justice system works? Why should we tolerate violence? Why should we tolerate national guards being shot?

I think we need to rethink the whole approach to make sure we stop people from being violent, if necessary, by doing the opposite of what Rashida Tlaib wanted and actually increasing prisons. You cannot have a country that crowds in fear and has wandering radicals openly encouraging violence.
