The newest character of Falcon and the Winter Soldier could have a role to play in the next series, alongside Nick Fury and Talos of Secret Invasion.
WARNING: The following contain spoilers for The hawk and the winter soldier Episode 5, “The Truth,” now on Disney +.
The penultimate episode of The hawk and the winter soldier it was a big one, with the titular characters reconciling with their past and present before looking to the future. He also introduced Julia Louis-Dreyfus as Countess Valentina Allegra de la Fontaine, marking the debut of the comic character Marvel Cinematic Universe, and this is probably far from the last time Val will appear, especially when it comes to the future Secret invasion.
Fontaine appears in “Truth” after John Walker faces the consequences of brutally killing a Flag Smasher in public. He is tried for his actions and loses the title of Captain America and his military honors. While Walker is the youngest, he is approached by the mysterious Wave. She tries to comfort the former Chief, saying that no one actually disapproved of his decision and says taking the super-soldier serum was a good choice. As soon as she entered, she left, leaving her card for future correspondence.

Val enters the MCU with a historical history in comics. Debuting in 1967 Strange Fairy tales # 159, she started as a SHIELD agent and turned to the love interest of Nick Fury, leading a group known as the “Force Femme”. However, in 2009 Secret warriors the comic book series revealed an ugly truth about her. He was a double agent for the Soviet organization Leviathan. After her desertion, she took root in the vile Hydra, becoming the leader of the group entitled “Madame Hydra”.
It has become clear since the appearance of Louis-Dreyfus that Marvel Studios intends not to let this be the last time we see Val, as it should have originally debuted in Black Widow. In addition, given the background of the character, the project that makes the most sense for her to play a bigger role is Secret invasion.
The next series will play Samuel L. Jackson and Ben Mendelsohn, resuming their roles in Nick Fury and Talos, respectively. Although little is known about the show’s plot, the comic crossover series of the same name has made Earth’s most powerful heroes try to save the planet from shape-shifting Skrulls.
As I mentioned earlier, Val and Nick Fury have a historical history. Secret invasion it could be a prime opportunity to bring that story to life, as live-action versions come into the other’s life, creating a dynamic of “alien exiles” between the two, which is tense as they try to work together. In addition, the character has its own connection with Skrulls, as she has been replaced twice by shape-shifters. If Secret invasion the creators decide to bring to the screen Val’s relationship with Fury and her involvement with Skrulls, the public could see much more of her in the new series.
Created by Malcolm Spellman and directed by Kari Skogland, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier stars Anthony Mackie, Sebastian Stan, Emily VanCamp, Wyatt Russell, Erin Kellyman, Adepero Oduye, Florence Kasumba and Daniel Brühl. The new episodes begin on Friday on Disney +.
