MLB Show 21 has finally arrived via Early Access, and players are already jumping into Career Road to the Show (RTTS) mode.
From the very beginning, some major decisions need to be made, and our survival guide will help you know where to start on the Road to the Show for MLB The Show 21.
How to create your Ballplayer
The first thing you need to do in MLB The Show 21 to prepare for Road to the Show is to create your own custom Ballplayer.
This new version of create-a-player will allow you to customize the look and other details of your Ballplayer, but it’s important to keep in mind that they will be in more than Road to the Show.
You will also be able to take your Ballplayer to Diamond Dynasty for the first time, once they are ready to strengthen your final team.
Choose your team
When you start a new path to the show in MLB The Show 21, the first decision you make will have to do with which team you are drafted with.
Whether you’re interested in choosing your favorite team or just letting the game choose one or a type of club for you, the first dialogue decisions you make will affect where your Ballplayer ends up.
You may need to follow the dialog tree with a few additional answers if your advisor does not guess the team immediately, but be specific and choose the exact team.
How to be a two-way player
One of the new facets of Road to the Show in MLB Show 21 is the option to be a true two-way player, who is not just a position player or a pitcher.
Instead, you can get the best of both worlds and make sure you beat on the field as well as play, but this is not a requirement.
When asked to be a two-way player, you can choose a dialog option that refuses and states that you prefer to focus on only one position.
Choosing your position on the way to the show
In the same way that Road to the Show gives you the option to choose your team and if you want to be a two-way player, you can also choose your specific position.
Pay attention to the dialog options at the beginning of the game when talking to your team manager and you will be able to specify exactly what position you want to play.
You can also leave things open and let the game play for you, but the dialog options will mean that, and your answers will affect the position you end up with.
Uploads to MLB The Show 21
One of the new additions to MLB The Show 21 is uploading and playing a crucial role in Road to the Show.
Uploads allow you to choose archetype-specific items and perks that will give your Ballplayer temporary boosts for individual stats or abilities.
How you choose the load will depend entirely on what kind of player you use, as most are specific to your position and style of play.
