Microsoft launches Edge Canary for Android with new UI, features and more

After announcing plans to unify the Edge code base on multiple platforms last month, Microsoft has now released a new version of Edge Canary for Android users. The new version (v91.0.858.0) fits the Edge Canary version for desktops and brings a new user interface, features, menu layout and more.

The new Microsoft Edge Canary app for Android was first seen by Reddit user u / howdoiuseredditlol (via Windows Central). The app offers a different set of features compared to the current beta version of Edge for Android (v46.03.23.5155), including advanced features such as a read mode and full access to experimental signage.

You can download the new version of Edge Canary by following the Play Store link below and try a number of experimental features by accessing the page edge: // flags. Keep in mind that because it is a Canary version, you may encounter errors and other stability issues. Fortunately, you can have both Canary and stable versions of Edge installed on your device at the same time, so you can quickly return to the stable version if that happens.

Unfortunately, the Play Store list does not include a change log for the new Edge Canary version for Android. It states: “Microsoft Edge preview channels are now available for mobile! This is the Microsoft Edge Canary channel for Android. Canary will be launched daily to keep abreast of our progress. Your feedback helps us improve, so download now and let us know what you think. ” Therefore, we expect Microsoft to release more features and version changes with each daily update.

The new version of Microsoft Edge Canary for Android comes just one day after the company launched a new children’s mode on the desktop version of the browser. Kids Mode is designed to help parents provide a safe browsing experience for young users by whitelisting a small selection of websites. The module includes two options – one for users aged 5 to 8, which offers a simplified browsing experience, and the other for users aged 9 to 12, which offers articles and news tailored to children on topics such as animals, science etc.
