The rocket fired into Israel from Gaza for the second night in a row; IDF reaches Hamas sites

Palestinian terrorists in the Gaza Strip fired a rocket at Israel on Friday night, the Israeli army said.

Media reports indicated that the rocket landed on Israeli territory, but in an uninhabited area. No injuries or damage were reported.

The rocket sounded warning sirens in the border communities of southern Gaza, Holit and Sde Avraham, hours after the start of the Sabbath.

In response, Israeli planes hit a number of Hamas targets in Gaza, IDF said.

The bombed targets included a Hamas training camp, an anti-aircraft position under construction and a factory producing cement to be used to build attack tunnels.

The military says it is holding Hamas accountable for any violence emanating from the Strip.

The launch came a day after a rocket fired by Gaza terrorists hit a field northeast of the Strip. In response, IDF planes hit targets linked to the Hamas terrorist group, which governs Gaza.

The targets included an arms production facility, an arms smuggling tunnel and a Hamas military post, according to IDF.

The attacks took place during a general outbreak of violence in the Gaza Strip in recent months, amid a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas and as Gaza faces a coronavirus pandemic.

Last month, a rocket was launched at Beersheba, while Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu made a campaign stop in the southern city before the March 23 elections.
