Abinader swears volunteers to be in six hospitals and five museums

On Thursday, President Luis Abinader led the inauguration ceremony of the first volunteers in the fields of health and culture with the aim of launching “co-government with civil society”.

Jury volunteers will work in six hospitals and five museums.

The hospitals are Arturo Grullón, Estrella Ureña, Robert Reid, Hugo Mendoza, while the museums of modern art, natural history, history and geography, the colonial area, the Dominican man, in addition, ADOVOH, INCART and CECANOT.

The President stressed that from now on all citizens who want to do this will be able to help ensure that things are done well, in addition to the contribution of their talent in hospitals, schools, social centers and all sectors of the country.

He recalled that about two months ago, the Management Committee of Volunteers of Public Institutions was created, in order to register and facilitate the creation, organization, operation and achievement of the goals of all volunteers in the country.

“As I said at the inauguration of the volunteer management committee, there is a phrase that defines its spirit very well; “It is not what I do, it is the reason why I do it” and in these beautiful words there is a deep ethical sense and also of great social repercussion “, added Abinader.

According to Abinader, the management committee will continue to work on training and supporting volunteers from other sectors, such as the environment with national parks and in the sports sector, through fields and sports centers.

Also, in the fields of education with high schools and schools across the country, with the intention of achieving a synergy between citizens and the government to work in a team and to maintain the good use of these institutions, guaranteeing an optimal user experience.

“We wanted the task of governing together not just a slogan, but a tangible reality that materialized and that all Dominican citizens who wanted to get involved in public management,” said the president.

In the activity, they were accompanied by the President, the Vice President of the Republic, Raquel Peña; the administrative ministers of the presidency, José Ignacio Paliza; public health, Daniel Rivera; of Culture, Carmen Heredia; environmental, Orlando Jorge Mera; from the National Health Service, Mario Lama, the director of the National Health Service, and the chairman of the Volunteer Management Committee, José Miguel Bonetti.
