Destiny 2 changes Guardian Games for 2021, adds Heir Apparent Catalyst

Destiny 2Guardian Games’ spring break is back and Bungie has just detailed the event on his website. The event takes place from April 20 to May 9, the closing ceremony from May 7 and runs until the end of the Guardian Games.

The Guardian Games, which began in 2020, are an in-game event that is a mix of the Olympics and a popularity contest. The idea is for the three Destiny classes to compete for a few weeks to see who is the best of the best, and the winning class receives a special gold statue next to Commander Zavala.

The 2021 Guardian Games will work similarly to last year, but there are some changes. Players will win medals from the event vendor / space grandmother, Eva Levante, completing Triumphs and what is called “Contender Cards”. Contender Cards require players to complete certain types of activities in exchange for a medal.

To buy these Contender cards, players will need Laur. When players defeat enemies in battle, they will leave Laurii, a kind of coin that players can use to buy various items from Eva. Unlike last year, Laurels will not enter PvP game modes such as Gambit and Crucible and will instead go directly to the player’s inventories.

At the end of each week, there will be a ceremony to crown a weekly winner. Players will get a new glow around their characters based on how well their class did that week. The final closing ceremony will last three days and will take place between May 7-9, just before the start of the next Destiny 2 season on May 11.

Being popular It is great, but no Guardian worth the salt would compete for free. The Heir Apparent Exotic machine gun returns again this year as a reward for gaming competition. But in 2021, players can win a unique exotic catalyst to improve their weapon, whether they won it at last year’s Guardian Games or pick it up for the first time this year. Currently we are not sure what Heir Apparent Catalyst does. Once players have Heir Apparent, the Catalyst will fall at random when the Guardians deposit gold or platinum medals.

As always, there will be a variety of cosmetic items themed after the Guardian Games, which players can purchase from the Eververse store for real money using Silver or the winning free coin, Bright Dust.

The Guardian Games of 2020 saw a dominant performance in the Titan class (the best and most beautiful of the Destiny classes). This was partly due to some bizarre balances that Bungie calculated for the event, as the Hunter class is much more popular among players than Titans or Warlocks. It is unclear if there were any additional fiddlers with this balance and how likely the Titans are to hold the trophy for another year.
