The former Israeli prime minister said Iran must “cool off” amid nuclear threats in Tehran.
Iran is frustrated by an assumption cyber attack it is said to have been made by Israel, which sabotaged one of Iran’s main nuclear enrichment facilities.
“I’m not sure Israel did, and I would advise Iranians to cool down,” former Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert said in an interview with WABC Radio’s “The Rita Cosby Show.”
Iranian President Hassan Rouhani has said that Iran will enrich its uranium to 60% in response to the attack.
“It simply came to our notice then. If the Zionists take action against our nation, we will respond, “the president said.
“It doesn’t really intimidate us. We don’t fear Iran so much … I don’t think Israel has reason to be afraid. But this very violent rhetoric, these threats, are useless and will not help anyone.” Olmert said in the interview.
The threats come as the US is about to start indirect talks with Iran over the reunification of the nuclear deal.
