Santa Clara County fights COVID-19 vaccine surges – NBC Bay Area

The Santa Clara County Department of Public Health is fighting ahead of the expected increase in people trying to book appointments for the COVID-19 vaccine starting April 15th.

Many residents have tried to book their meeting, but face problems and confusion when trying to do so. They say the website does not recognize them as eligible for an appointment.

However, Santa Clara County officials say the website has been fixed and residents should no longer have problems with their eligibility.

The changes came after several complaints reached the county’s phone lines and websites, saying no meetings were available.

Since Monday afternoon, the county has been updating the website to reflect the changes. While eligibility for 16-year-olds and older is now addressed online, officials point out that no appointments are available for April 15 or later.

Several meetings and changes are expected to take place in the days leading up to April 15, but the health department warns that appointments will depend on the supply of vaccines.
