MLS is pleased with the alliance with the MX League. Don Garber, commissioner from the United States League, spoke on Monday, in a press conference, about the relationship with Mexican football, “The future is bright.”
And while in Mexico, Mikel Arriola, the president of the MX League, acknowledged that a merger with MLS would be a huge increaseIn the United States, they are also clear that partnering with Mexican football will bring them good dividends.
Yes indeed, Don Garber specified that the first step is to consolidate both the League Cup and the Campeones Cup and do it right so you don’t clash with CONCACAF or the Champions League.

The Commissioner emphasized that, although the aim is to strengthen CONCACAF through tournaments with the MX League, he should not eat cravings and do it step by step.
“There is no reason why this region, North America and CONCACAF, is not as strong and as valuable as Conmebol, CAF or UEFA in time. And the only way to do that, is to create meaningful competitions between their top clubs, as seen in Europe or South America and we have to go before we run.
“This is the League Cup, the Campeones Cup in question; this is our mutual commitment to CONCACAF to have the right program and opportunities at Concacampions. And as we see more and more value coming from there, we will finally be able to get closer and closer in terms of the relationship we are looking for with meaningful competitions. ”
