First, he wore a T-shirt with a picture of Chris Farley during his “Tequila Shots” show on his latest album “Man on the Moon III: The Chosen.” Farley, a former member of the SNL cast, died in 1997 at the age of 33.
Many Twitter users also noticed that the green cardigan worn by Kid Cudi during the show resembles the one worn by Kurt Cobain. The Nirvana singer died by suicide in 1994.
But this was not the only tribute.
For her performance as “Sad People,” Kid Cudi turned into a floral dress, which he posted on Twitter was to honor Cobain. Kid Cudi’s show fell in the same week as the anniversary of Cobain’s death, April 5th.
“Virgil designed my dress,” wrote Kid Cudi, referring to designer Virgil Abloh. “I told him I wanted to show love to Kurt wa’s floral print sundress and this man made a masterpiece.
Kid Cudi also wrote on Twitter that he makes a collection with the fashion brand Abloh Off white and that the dress would be included.
