Now, I wasn’t a federal employee. Most NASA is not. NASA has a big name, but it’s a tiny agency and most of them are contractors. Federal employees manage the agency’s contractors and programs. The Perseverance Rover is an example of one of these programs, as is Hubble and its successor, the soon-to-be-launched James Webb Space Telescope.
Federal employees are the backbone of the private sector agency, which puts missiles and people into space and conducts aeronautical research. That’s in the name – the National Administration for Aeronautics and Space.
There is nothing about administering children at the border in this name. Nothing. If any member of the federal staff had been asked to volunteer back at the border when we were at Hubble, all of us contractors would have heard about it.

But here we are. On the first day, the Biden administration irresponsibly threw the wide-open border. Hundreds of thousands of migrants crossed it illegally. There are at least 18,000 children who are kept in a certain type of overcrowded unit. Border towns are overwhelmed. The federal government is so overwhelmed that it is now trying to get its staff, managers and astronauts and strange space program scientists out of their important work in one of the smallest federal agencies to deal with this ongoing disaster. border.
The Biden administration is underway. He’s trying to blame Trump now, but the migrants aren’t wearing MAGA hats. He wears “Biden, please let us in!” shirts and telling every reporter they came because Biden told them.
Trump left Biden a pretty tidy border. The wall erected by Biden and his men was nearing completion; Biden inherited shovel-ready infrastructure jobs right there, but immediately canceled them, despite Trump and his supporters. Biden, according to Obama’s quote about his tendency to “handle things,” went and did just that.
How do I know? Biden called on other larger agencies to come and help for a few weeks. It wasn’t enough. It was a trouble. Who knew that a bunch of fat government cats living in multi-million dollar homes in Bethesda, Maryland, and northern Virginia don’t want to travel to the border where it’s dangerous and have to think about thousands of children? And, by the way, it treats COVID even more. And hyper-violent drug cartels that make Blackbeard look like a schoolboy. Shocking that I don’t get enough volunteers, right?
This NASA email appears to be an escalation from a staff and facility perspective when Biden’s men began considering using a NASA facility to house migrants in March. Wrap your mind around that. NASA facilities are not designed for this. They are designed either for rocket research and actual launches, they are designed for building satellites in clean rooms, they are designed for aeronautical or other research, or they are academic and office buildings. What part of this says “Let’s pop a bunch of migrant children here”?
NASA people aren’t designed for that either. They are employees, managers and physicists of higher level and the like. These are very smart people who do amazing things, but the mass care of children in convention centers and tent cities is far from “other tasks assigned.” Or even volunteering, in this case.
They tried to hire a babysitter for a whopping $ 144,000, according to the March Victoria Taft report. We also have … this. Egad. All this, Biden does. But I got rid of these mischievous tweets. That’s something.
Biden is now trying to get NASA out of space and blood research – their core mission and one that is as important as ever with growing China – to deal with border chaos on who created him out of stupidity and wickedness. This is not good. Joe Biden (or whoever makes decisions for him) is an idiot.
